Jude Ares is a 12th generation hero of the 12th Robins.

Although he comes off as friendly and reliable, in truth, he cares for very little in life. Due to being unable to feel pain since birth and his careful upbringing, he started to seek thrills and excitement. This motivated him to become a hero, and he enjoys combat more than anyone else. He has a strange infatuation with Bianchi, and treats them as the most important thing in his life.

Appearance

Jude is a handsome man with an impressive stature and build. He has short hair with bangs that cover one side of his face, and thick eyebrows. He has purple eyes that lose their shine when he finds himself lost in excitement. Despite his tendency to dive into dangerous situations, he has no noticeable scars thanks to his ability.

Jude wears the Helios uniform neatly, with the black long-sleeved shirt buttoned all the way up and fixed with a purple tie, which has a tie clip attached on the right. He wears the Helios emblem on his left breast, and a medal with two stars on his right, displaying his rank as an AA hero. He holds his pants up with a black belt adorned with a chain, and sports brown dress shoes.

Hero Outfit

For his hero outfit, he wears a plain, skin-tight black t-shirt with a harness laid on top, which holds up several boxed compartments. He has similar harnesses worn on top of his red pants, and fashions safety pads on his elbows and knees. He wears the standard Helios boots, as well as fingerless gloves on both of his hands. He also is suited with a standard necklace and earpiece.

Trivia

• Jude appears to have congenital insensitivity to pain.
• Despite his ability not having any direct effect on his offensive abilities, his weapon of choice is a simple hammer. He will even discard his weapon if he feels it’s getting in the way.
• Jude seems to have an impaired sense of taste, as according to Nico, he doesn't look happy even when he's eating his "favorite food". Bianchi has also remarked that Jude can't properly appreciate super spicy dandan noodles because he can't even tell how spicy it is.
  • Jude picked his favorite food on a whim after Bianchi told him he needed one. He was inspired by LA Tomatina, a Spanish festival where participants throw tomatoes at each other, as the sight of everyone covered in red excited him.
• Jude is considered very handsome by most, and his popularity rivals Faith's. One of his and Bianchi's special moves is their "Charm Magic", where they manage to coax people just with the power of their good looks alone.
  • Bianchi considers his physique to be one of his few good points.
  • He had to tell his fans to stop sending him so many tomatoes (to Nico's disappointment).
• After he repaired a chair for a restaurant (he doesn't remember which one), he started to get a lot of woodworking requests, which he works on when he has nothing to do.
• Will and Gray both seem to respect Jude. Will lauded Jude as a model hero after Jude helped him build some flowerbeds, and Gray thinks he's impressive for not being intimidated by Asch.
• Jude originally attended the Academy with the rest of the 11th generation, but dropped out half a year in after finding the course not to be as violent and savage as he hoped it would be. He returned a few years later when he found himself bored with nothing to do.
  • When he first enrolled at the Academy, he became a legend due to not having a place in the school's social hierarchy, as he was standoffish and didn't bother making friends. Some of his peers, including Gray, started calling him the "Outsider".
• Jude was once part of the military and he recalls that he got a lot of work from someone who had a name that was something like “Adler”.
